Why wasn't File Linking used?

Hi

Why wasn't file linking used? Mainly the unit tests. This does save on code maintenance. Some of the files just have the namespace and maybe one line difference. #if can be used, especially for the unit tests.

Was there a reason?

EDIT

I want to just move the files out of the project folders and into a common folder, and then the projects can all reference the same files, making things a bit easier:
src
 |-pcl
    |-SQLiteConnection.cs
 |-common
    |-platform.cs
    |-sqlitebits.cs
 |-test
    |-generaltest.cs
 |-wp8
    |-.csproj
 |-wp8.test
    |-.csproj
 |-ios
    |-.csproj
 |-store
    |-.csproj
 |-store.test
    |-.csproj
 |-android
    |-.csproj
