When are you likely to be able to support Windows Phone 8.1 Universal Apps?

Hi,
Now that WPSDK8.1 is in RTM, and Microsoft has dropped support for SQL CE this becomes very essential for us. Otherwise there is no local database support available.

Exactly! They're really messing up with Windows Phone 8.1. Removal of hubs, no database support, messed up navigation model and what not.

It looks like two steps front and one step back. If MS was targeting for such a huge change at least they could avoid releasing something in 8.0 that we are going to completely throw away. Database component going to be a throw away is simply not acceptable. Instead if they had released SQL CE4.0 ( that has 10 GN support) or SQL express for phone with complete ADO.NET layer that would have been an helping point for MS.

It looks like that the Entity Framework 7 will Support Windows Phone and Windows Store Apps.
You can find the source code of the the EF Team on GitHub.
I've got the info from them via twitter that they are still working on it.
Have look on the Teched session to get a feeling of the next steps.

If MS port EF to WP and WinStore (and Xamarin?) it would be much cooler than this Sqlite PCL, wouldn't it?

There are no official binaries for SQLite 8.1 but we can target aprox in two weeks a release that covers WP8.1 based on unofficial binaries.

Thanks for the reply. This extension here seems to be from the SQLite team: http://visualstudiogallery.msdn.microsoft.com/5d97faf6-39e3-4048-a0bc-adde2af75d1b So, the corresponding binaries should be official, right?

If not, it'd still be great to have a version based on unofficial binaries. A good amount of packages (like this one) have NuGet dependencies on SQLitePCL.

Hi,

We've added WP81 support, both Runtime and Silverlight, in the latest release.
